2023 Spring Newsletter
                                                       Safety Notices

House Numbers: Need to be clearly posted on your mail box and house for fire and rescue to find your house.

Golf Carts, Go Carts, Dirt Bikes and ATVs: we’ve all seen golf carts rolling around and, most of the time, they are operated
safely. However, this hasn’t always been the case. Kids driving a vehicle not authorized for use on public roads puts the
owners of the vehicle at risk legally and financially. PLEASE, if you own a cart or ATV, help us avoid terrible accidents and tell
your kids to play it safe! Teach them the rules of the road; stop signs mean STOP, look before you pull out onto a road, stay
in your lane, and do not dart across lanes.

Driving thru Stop Signs and Speeding: We have had several reports of speeding vehicles and resulting “close calls”. This
time of year, there are lots of kids and dogs and walkers in the streets in your neighborhood. PLEASE slow down and STOP
at STOP Signs as you enter and drive through the Shores!

➢ Children should be closely monitored at the waterfront as the currents are very fast and water is deep adjacent to the
               sea wall.

➢ Please be considerate of your neighbors, the St Mary's County Residential Maximum Noise Level from 10:00 pm to
               7:00 am is 55 dB.

➢ Dogs are required to be on a leash. It is OK if you are exercising your dog at the waterfront,
but please make sure other people are not there. Please respect walking paths and yards by
               ALWAYS removing your dog's poop!

We can continue to maintain a clean, healthy environment in Hollywood Shores by working together!

Creek Entrance/Blockage: On top of the physical work the waterfront committee is making an aggressive (and daunting)
effort to address the critical problem of sedimentation in the creek entrance. If not dealt with, the creek will be blocked off
to boat traffic. This is a very active effort and a full update can be given at the spring meeting. Anyone with an interest in the
waterfront and boating should consider coming to the meeting and consider joining the committee. Please contact Rollie
Campbell (240-298-8966) or Jean Campbell (240-298-6072), also scan the QR code on the sign at the waterfront.

                                                                 Hate Litter?

The annual Jones Wharf Road Clean-Up was conducted Saturday, April 1
                                                                                                         st
Thanks to Pam LeFave and all who pitched in to keep our roadways litter free!
