POOL RULES – HOLLYWOOD SHORES CIVIC ASSOCIATION
1. Authorized members only. Show the lifeguard your Pool Pass and Sign in with membership number.
Children must be at least 10 years old to be at the pool without an adult. Children under 10 must be
accompanied by a parent, guardian, family member or babysitter 16 years of age or older.
2. Authorized adult members may sponsor up to 5 non family guests. Hollywood Shores Residents
are NOT authorized guests except for Pool Parties.
3. Children 2 years of age and younger shall be within arms reach of their parent or guardian at all times
while at the pool. Swim diaper with liner must be worn by children wearing diapers. Waterwings are
not considered safety equipment.
4. Young children must pass a swim test prior to entering the deep water or water that is above their
shoulders. The test will be given only during adult swim period. Basic test shall consist of swimming
the length of the pool twice.
5. Swimmers must wear appropriate swimwear – no cutoffs, jeans, etc.
6. Appropriate water play toys will be allowed with the permission of the lifeguard. Kick boards, swim
fins, pull buoys are authorized for fitness swim only at lifeguard’s discretion.
7. ABSOLUTELY NO GLASS allowed in the pool area.
8. There will be an adult (18 yrs or older) swim period for 15 minutes every hour at a regularly
scheduled time, providing adults are present.
9. Shower and rinse off feet before entering pool.
10. No swimming is allowed if the lifeguard is not on duty.
11. No reckless behavior such as running, jumping, shoving is allowed. Disciplinary action will be taken.
No interference with others in the pool. No running on diving board or pool apron.
12. Picnic lunches and alcoholic beverages used by those of legal age are allowed, but drunken or
abusive behavior will not be tolerated. No cigarette usage under legal age.
13. Pets, bicycles, skates, skateboard, and motorized vehicles are not allowed inside pool fence. Bikes
are to be parked at the bike rack only.
14. Harassment, profanity, obscene gestures and/or misbehavior will not be tolerated; patrons will be
dismissed from the pool area immediately. Disciplinary action will be recorded. Repeated misbehavior
and not following rules may lead to suspension of pool privileges.
15. Persons with open sores, skin diseases, or bandages will not be permitted in the pool.
16. Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior. Lifeguards are responsible for the safe and
orderly operation of the pool. All are to follow the lifeguard’s instructions.
