17. Lifeguards may close the pool to swimming in case of emergencies, overcrowding, disciplinary
issues and weather/lightning.
18. Dive only in deep end of pool when area is clear. Only one person, one bounce on diving board at a
time. Clear the diving area immediately after a dive. No one is to swim under or hang from diving
board. Ask lifeguard for permission before doing flips or freestyle diving.
19. Diving is at your own risk.
20. Pool Operations Committee – Any concerns or issues should be brought to the attention of the
Pool Operations Committee – names and numbers listed on the bulletin board or place in the
Suggestion Box on the lifeguard counter.
21. Our goal is to have a safe and orderly community swimming pool --- we ask all members to help
this by following the rules, reporting any problems as soon as possible to the Pool Operations
Committee and joining our Pool Operations Committee.
22. Lifeguards are in charge of the safe operations of the pool --- their instructions are to be followed by
all members and guests. Please assist lifeguards when requested to do so. Direct complaints and
concerns about lifeguard duties are to be directed to our Pool Management Committee. If a member
has a question for the lifeguard they may do so without conflicting with the lifeguard’s ability to
watch the pool. In case of emergency or eminent danger we ask that you assist lifeguards as directed.
Diving Board Rules – restated
1. Only one person allowed on the diving board at a time. No running on the board.
2. Only one bounce allowed before each dive.
3. The next diver may not mount the board until the diving area is cleared.
4. The dive or jump must be straight off the end of the board, not off the side.
5. After diving, immediately clear the diving area.
6. Ask lifeguard for permission before doing flips or freestyle diving.
7. Games will be allowed at the lifeguard’s discretion.
8. No one is to swim under or hang from the diving board.
Disciplinary Action
Lifeguards are to ensure that members and their guests follow the rules of the pool for their own
safety. Members and guests must be respectful of our lifeguards. Violators of pool rules are subject to
the disciplinary actions below:
1. verbal warning – first warning
2. temporary restriction from use of pool or certain facilities
3. call to parent/sponsor or conference about behavior
4. restriction for a specified period of time/days
5. restriction from facilities unless accompanied by a parent
6. permanent restriction from pool facilities
7. withdrawal of family membership
