volunteers and donors who have made this happen (Phil Stevens, Lanhams, Quades, Donna Diana, Jean Campbell, Joe
Hunt, Laney Lynch, Chip Cousino, Mike Schmidt, and more).
Creek Entrance/Blockage: On top of the physical work the waterfront committee is making an aggressive (and daunting)
effort to address the now critical problem of sedimentation in the creek entrance channel. If not dealt with the creek
can be expected to be blocked off to boat traffic and the channel entrance severely restricted. Meetings have been held
at the County engineer's office, two DNR visits have been made here; the last one to re-survey the channel depth which
is the basis for new activity. A consultant has been engaged and a dredging plan is in development. Thanks to Jim Haley
and Ted Harwood for investigating dredging and Eileen Lanham for researching grant and funding options. Brad
Renninger has created a good presentation of the history of the Channel entrance which was once totally open to the
creek without blockage. This is a very active effort and a full update can be given at the spring meeting. Anyone with
an interest in the waterfront and boating should consider coming to the meeting and consider joining the
committee. Rollie briefed the group from his written report specifically describing efforts to build Kayak launch area
(sand). Also updated group on waterways efforts. Specifically, that a request for dredging permit has been submitted
which could take up to a year for approval. Brad provided a photo history of the evolving situation at the creek entrance.
Eileen is working on strategies to obtain grant funding to support needed efforts.it was mentioned that dredging should
be scheduled during off season (winter).

Landscape Committee – We have been lucky to have volunteers help with weeding, planting and maintaining our flower
garden areas. Plant donations are appreciated. Jean briefed group on efforts planned for the year to include more
planting to include grass seed. Jean requested all be mindful of their pets and to please clean up dog poop!

Maintenance Committee – We continue to address repairs needed on the many aging systems and structures
associated with our pool and waterfront. As always, we are de-winterizing all pool systems and checking pump and
chemical feeder operations prior to opening the pool.

Playground Committee Report – We hope to install a basketball court near pool but simply can’t afford it now. The
rotted 6x6 needs to be replaced around the playground, see WFC. Mark your calendar for the July 4 Bike Parade at
                                                                                                  th
9:00 a.m. After two trips around the community, we’ll have popsicles & then jump in the pool. Lorie reiterated that the
6x6 timbers around the playground need to be replaced.

Pool Operating Committee –This committee is responsible for monitoring operations (lifeguards, cleanliness, etc.) as
well as editing/updating pool rules and lifeguard documents as required. We are in great shape this year as we have
many returning Lifeguards. Lorie briefed group we are well positioned to have the lifeguards and pool manager for 2022
season. It was determined that Guards will receive pay of $13.50/Hr. Guards who also have Pool Operator certification
will be paid $15/Hr. Pool Manager will be paid $16.00/Hr.

Website Committee – Visit our website for pool party reservation form, pool regulations, deed restrictions, by-laws,
lifeguard application form, board member info, and a “contact us” link to email questions and concerns. Follow us on
Facebook to share info with neighbors. Check these sites often to keep up with the latest!

Security Committee – Monitors community facilities (pool and waterfront) for unauthorized use and enforce curfew.
Please submit ideas via the community website. Rollie engaged the group in discussion regarding security overall. There
have been occasions wherein non-members are at waterfront…. sometimes well after hours. The parking lot needs to be
secured each evening (chains across entrance) and Rollie has been the one primarily taking this on. Some discussion
        ensued regarding camera use/access.
